STEM Education Center UPI
Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) as one of the teacher higher education institution aware and adaptive to the needs and demands of the present and the future. Therefore in 2018, UPI initiated collaboration works with STEAM Foundation in Korea on research and teacher-training program by applying 4D-Frame as the teaching materials. UPI became the 27th 4D-Frame Center in the world and the 1st Center in Indonesia. This center was developed to enrich education activities at UPI and implementing STEM Education speedily in Indonesia. The aims are to facilitate and support STEM education at various levels of education, and become a reference center for practitioners in implementing STEM education on their institutions.
Our Activity
DAILY ACTIVITIES
Center Visit
STEM Education and 4D-Frame Center open visit for who are interested in STEM, 4DFrame and want to know more about interesting learning materials. Visitors will learn and play using the 4DFrame to enrich STEM knowledge.
WEEKLY ACTIVITIES
Every two weeks, STEM Education Center UPI have an agenda called Young Scientist, Technician, Engineer, and Mathematician (YSTEM) Program. This hands-on activity is designed for 4th grade-9th grade students. We try to engage students to use math in real world, making model of renewable energy using 4DFrame, saving their environment from natural disaster, and even conduct their own research in lab facility.
MONTHLY ACTIVITIES
Teachers Training and Workshop.
We conduct teacher-training program by applying 4D-Frame as the teaching materials on STEM Learning every last week of each month. Teachers will be given challenges with the theme of the project to making hats, flowers, cars, windmills, frogs, balls, etc. Theme was chosen based on the Curriculum 2013 content.
